Table Reading Submission Details
Submissions are now OPEN for all 2023
This year, submissions will be contacted on a rolling basis. This means that as slots open up with our partner theatres, we will contact successful applicants about reading their pieces. We encourage you to apply early, especially if you're most interested in the Spring timeframe.
The Submission Deadline is FRIDAY, MARCH 17TH @12:00PM EST.
**Please send your material even if it is not a final draft. We will only consider material submitted before this date.**
OUR GOALS:
-
Provide a free space for writers to test and refine the current draft of their show
-
Offer four hours in the studio for the reading and day-of feedback session.
-
Hear the full arc of the story aloud, with appropriately cast actors.
-
Elevate the work of Latiné writers and providing resources to eliminate the gap in opportunity in the theatre industry.
-
Provide outside dramaturgical feedback, from both an outside dramaturg and Lab staff.
-
Showcase the script to potential collaborators, depending on the current development state of the show
ELIGIBILITY:
-
Any writing team containing at least one Latine-identifying writer is eligible for submission.
-
We encourage shows still in development to apply–this submission is not at all expected to be a final draft. This can be an opportunity for anything from a first to a twentieth draft.
-
The Lab covers all submission and participation costs.
-
Your material may be in English, Spanish or both.
-
We encourage submissions from any and all types of projects, we work from the widest definition of what a musical can be.
