Donate to the Lab
Latiné Musical Theatre Lab LLC is fiscally sponsored by The Producer's Hub (The Tank LTD.)
All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
Your support directly impacts the quality of the programs we're able to provide Latiné musical theatre writers to develop their artistry and their work.
We don't charge our writers a cent to participate in any of our programs - and we're able to do that through contributions from folks like you.
Help us lead the way to equity for Latiné artists in the arts.
Impact of Giving
Did you know? Over 270 musicals have opened on Broadway since the beginning of the year 2000.
Only EIGHT of those musicals have featured a Latiné composer, lyricist or book writer.
That's almost 700 lyricists, librettists, and composers that have had their work featured on Broadway in the past 20 years.
Yet only NINE of those appearances are from Latiné writers.
Latiné individuals make up 18.7% of the population of the United States, 29.1% of of the population of New York City, and yet our representation in Musical Theatre consistently sits in the single digits.
Approximately 3.6% of Broadway actors in musicals over the past five years have been Latiné.
Even in the NYC non-profit theatre arena, Latiné directors hover around 3.7% of hires, designers around 3.7% as well, and writers at a measly 0.7%.***
By supporting the Lab and its mission to bring robust resources into the Latiné musical theatre community, you can help us change the long history of Latiné exclusion in theatre stages across the city and the nation.
Help us bring our writers and our stories into the spotlight with a donation today.
